Minnoji is a brand built on a lifelong passion for design, craftsmanship, and reinvention. Founded in 2013 by Milena Encheva, Minnoji is the culmination of a journey that began in Bulgaria, where Milena first learned to sew at just nine years old. By 13, she was transforming forgotten garments from her mother’s and grandmother’s closets into unique, fashion-forward pieces—earning her the nickname "Milena the Scissors" (or “Nojitza” in Bulgarian), which inspired the name Minnoji.
At 15, she opened her first boutique, designing one-of-a-kind pieces and learning firsthand the importance of fabric, fit, and construction. Though she initially pursued engineering, her passion for fashion led her to New York City and the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), where she honed her skills, and then spent years working in the fast-paced New York fashion industry, gaining invaluable experience with both emerging brands and established companies before launching her own brand.
Minnoji is more than just a brand; it’s a celebration of thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and timeless style—rooted in Milena’s belief that great fashion starts with understanding the details that bring it to life. Guided by a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and the natural world, Minnoji is shaping garments that blend versatility with effortless elegance.
With a belief that "less is more," our pieces are intentionally versatile—transforming seamlessly from day to night with a simple change of styling. Thoughtfully crafted and timeless in design, they are meant to be worn, loved, and returned to, season after season. Our fabrics are thoughtfully chosen, using mostly organic materials sourced primarily from Japan, with select fabrics from Turkey and South Korea. Our garments are expertly crafted to minimize fabric waste. Produced in New York City's Garment District, each piece is made with care and precision to ensure lasting quality and craftsmanship.
